Every once in a while I need a break.
Since my personal philosophy is that the living are more important than paper work, I often find myself putting in10 hours days just trying to keep up with everything. Some times it’s easy peasy, things go exactly as planned and I have enough energy around me to both use my analytical and heart centered brains. Other times it’s a little more challenging – multiple interruptions, someone needing a shoulder to lean on, trauma and transition.
But sometimes I just need to get a little back too. Last weekend was just that kind of time.
I originally planned to go to Greensboro for a visit to my dentist. When I think about getting my teeth worked on I always get an image of Steve Martin in Little Shop of Horrors. So, yes, it’s really important for me to be comfortable with my dentist and set aside enough time before and after to ‘recoup.’ I decided to spend the weekend down the mountain visiting friends and doing a little shopping.
And I thought I’d spend a little spiritual time there too. I set up a private session with another healer to work on the dog stuff, offered to teach a class on Quantum Healing at an area Reiki center, signed up for a refresher class on mediumship at Eclectic by Nature, and scheduled an appointment with a friend to refresh my skills on Raindrop Therapy. I thought this would be a good give and take time. Yes, I love having a full schedule! But I also had been feeling a little stuck, off balance really, and needed some perspective about what was going on in my life. Road trips are a perfect opportunity to do this.
Plans never go as planned though, do they?
As it turned out, I was on the receiving end the entire weekend. The only ‘service’ I actually provided was the Raindrop Therapy session. And to be honest, my client was teaching me more about the technique than I was demonstrating to her!
The most amazing physical thing was seeing my face reconstruct itself from trauma caused by a fall. Thanks to Dr Marsha Walters for a quantum healing session (she’ll be here in Boone 11/7-9).
The most amazing spiritual thing that happened was having no one show up for my class. And spending over 3 hours talking and trying things with Len, the owner of the center. We did everything from simple Reiki and Matrix work to Past Life Regressions (meeting Babaji in his mountain cave) to working with dowsing rods to looking at energetic patterns in the world in general!
The most amazing emotional thing was letting go totally and completely a relationship, one that I had been trying to resolve on my own. Getting another’s perspective on the situation changed my perspective of the whole process. I learned I loved him enough to let him go.
The most amazing thing for The Wisdom Tree was, after taking the class on mediumship (thanks Caroline H), coming up with a whole new series on classes about connecting to the spirit world. And these classes will be taught here at The Wisdom Tree starting in October.
The most amazing part was that, after getting all this new energy I feel unstuck.
Sometimes just getting away and letting yourself be nurtured can rearrange so many things in your life!
